Acupressure

Acupressure is an ancient healing art that uses the fingers to press key points on the surface of the skin to stimulate the body's natural self-curative abilities. When these points are pressed, they release muscular tension and promote the circulation of blood and the body's life force to aid healing. Acupuncture and acupressure use the same points, but acupuncture employs needles, while acupressure uses the gentle but firm pressure of hands. Acupressure continues to be the most effective method for self-treatment of tension-related ailments by using the power and sensitivity of the human hand.

At Naperville Acupuncture Center, we use a special method of acupressure. Our method was developed by an acupuncturist with over thirty years of experience and can deactivate trigger points instantly. (The trigger point is an area in a muscle that's painful when pressed; it very often causes a patient's pain or other symptoms.) The purpose is to easily turn off pain instantly, using only light pressure on acupressure points.

  • Gentle, using only fingertips, almost no pressure whatsoever, completely painless.
  • Gentle enough for children.
  • No machines, lasers, or needles. No manipulation or adjusting.
  • Provides immediate pain relief for many (not all) patients.
  • So simple you'll be amazed you've never seen it before!

This is an exciting new method for eliminating many chronic painful areas and symptoms. If you want to experience the benefits of Oriental medicine but are apprehensive about needles, this could be for you. Call today to learn more.
